I introduced the next poem 'First Showers' written by Nalini Sharma which dealt with the sensuousness of rain. I showed them pictures of rain and begun the class with the help of ICT. I taught the first eight lines of the poem.

WEEKLY REFLECTION
(PHASE -II)

SECOND WEEK (12/11/18 - 16/11/18)

During this week I taught the poem 'The Village Blacksmith' written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow from the unit 'Seeds and Deeds'. Students paid their full attention towards the class. Due to their sincere  co-operation I was able to handle the class easily. Various teaching aids including charts, activity cards, flashcards etc regarding the chapter was presented before the students. After completing the third unit, I introduced the titular picture of the next unit, 'Flowers and Showers'. Week one was definitely a bit difficult for me as there was a little gap between me and my students. So in this week I tried to study their names and  mention each one of them by their names and. Apart from teaching I was fully engaged in various classes during this week.

WEEKLY REFLECTION
(PHASE -II)

FIRST WEEK (07/11/18 - 09/11/18)

As a part of our B.Ed curriculum, the second phase of our school internship programme started on 7th November 2018.  A group consisting of thirteen members from English, Malayalam, Mathematics, Natural Science and Physical Science optional joined Amritha Sanskrit Higher Secondary School, Paripally, as teacher trainees. From English optionaI, me, Najiya and Najmi were alloted to this school. We reached the school on time and handed over the documents including attendance register to the H.M of the school. After getting the consent from the H.M, we were asked to meet the concerned teachers. I was assigned to deal with the unit 3 and unit 4 in class VIII. L. It was a new class for me.

During this week, I took the poem 'The Sower' written by Victor Marie Hugo from the third unit 'Seeds and Deeds'. The profile of the author was displayed on a chart before them. Difficult words and its meanings were taught with the help of flash cards. All the doubts raised from the students were cleared and all the activities were completed. In this week our general teacher Ms.Shameema came for observation.

Apart from this I engaged myself in other classes during the substitution periods.  Students listened attentively in the class and actively participated in the activities given to them. Eventhough it was a new class I was able to handle the class in a nice manner. Students were very cooperative.
